Neuro-Sensory Integration
Your brain is constantly receiving and interpreting signals about the environment from your sensory systems.
You’re probably familiar with five of the senses:
Sight
Sound
Smell
Taste
Touch
You may not be as familiar with the other three sensory systems:
Proprioceptive:
self movement, body position, force
Vestibular:
balance, coordination, spatial orientation
Interoception:
understand and identify internal body signals
Our sensory systems signal to the brain all the ways we need to adapt and adjust to the input from world to ensure our safety.
Many people with differently wired brains have challenges with appropriately interpreting their sensory signals
Our nervous system is consistently adjusting to respond to the signals received by the sensory systems. Our bodies are constantly trying to reach an optimal regulated state When the body senses too much or not enough input, it will make changes to either pay more attention (hyper-arousal) or to pay less attention (hypo-arousal)
People with differently wired brains often have difficulties maintaining the optimal regulated state due to sensory sensitivities or processing challenges. When your sensory input system cannot process effectively, the body sends mixed messages to the brain about safety. So when you need to pay attention, your body may not respond as you want it to. Or when you need to tune out to excessive stimulation, you may be unable to filter out or block what you need to so you can focus.
Sensory integration coaching helps you to identify the areas in your life where you are getting too much or not enough stimulation and works to get you to a more regulated state with tools and strategies designed for sensory regulation.

What to expect from a neuro-sensory coaching session
You will be given an initial assessment to help you better understand your sensory needs. You will work with your coach to identify which sensory areas you wish to focus on to bring more regulation to your body.
Ongoing sessions will encourage using various sensory tools and experiences to bring more regulation within the brain and body. Your coach will help you practice breathing and movement to encourage calm, engaged responses from the nervous system.
